Feel Good Fusion 01252008

Did my first live art set at Feel Good Fusion.

I had a lot of fun (even though my printer wasn’t cooperating at first). I started the piece at approximately 10:00pm and finished around 2am (may make some minor revisions). The piece was a mixture of techniques, utilizing digital photographs taken on the spot, importing them into my mac, messing with the images on photoshop/illustrator, and printing them out which would end up on my canvas. From there I would paint acrylics and use markers/pens to get my finalized piece.

Big thanks to all who showed up! Feel Good Fusion is the last Friday of every month… so I’ll be participating in at least 2 more upon which I’ll have the live pieces available for sale. I’ll keep you guys updated as I book the dates.

Hello internet,

I just finished up the new FM site - fmonyourdial.com with the help of Daniel Park (PM). I’ve been a fan of the group for some time now and had a real specific image in mind for them when they approached me about the site. I’ve been listening to their unreleased new stuff, and noticed that they had a lot of electro sounding beats to them. The word “Electro-Hop” comes to mind, and with that I ran with the visuals.

The site was a great learning experience because we had to create an in-depth admin user interface… so although I’m happy with the visual layout and illustrations for the site, I’m really proud of the way the site functions overall.

As for the layout it all begins with some sketching:

Then some photoshop mock-ups, FM explained to me that they wanted something very “LA”.

But that wasn’t it.

So I went the other route - Electro…

But that was probably overkill.

Finally I found a look that was right between the two:
