Peachies

I’m trying to get warmed up with motion again. Here’s a little spot I whipped up for Peachies not too long ago. If you recognize the song, then you are an old fob.

Buffalos…

I have a new project to create an image that will be placed on a fashion hat. The hat itself is a mixture of mesh, wool, and leather. I immediately knew what direction I wanted to go, so I first drew some elements.

Then I vectorized them.

After I showed the initial concepts to my boss, I was told that my target audience might take the imagery the wrong way, and so he encouraged me to go a more generic route.

I ended up with the following. Not sure If any of these will be sampled out. I’ll probably have to re-work them this coming monday.

RTG! Promotional

Lately, Red Team Go! has had some requests for press reviews. Instead of sending the typical press kit in a manilla folder with a black and white photograph of the band and some lame reviews, we decided to do something different. We put together a promotional book with lyrics, musings, photographs, and the cd. It’s kind of a mini artbook. Anyways, I received the prints the other day and was pretty happy with the turn out. Special thanks to Ian and Tan.

Red Flag Down

A friend of a friend wanted to make a clothing line based on the band I play with. He was more than willing to sample out the shirts, all he needed was some design. So instead of making straight up merch shirts, I wanted to have a shirt brand that was affiliated with the band Red Team Go! The following was the spec sheet I sent him:

Unfortunately he was pressed with a tight deadline and sampled out the shirt with what he had available to him at the time. The sampled product is missing a graphic on the sleeve and features a base color that was not part of the original design.

The thing I like about the shirt is that it calls for a certain type of person to wear it. You can’t be a trendy guy who wants to wear “distressed” clothing - you gotta actually be a dirty scumbag. We’ll see what happens with this soon.

Talking Heads

A co-worker of mine wanted to see her face vectorized, so we did some takes during lunch. I like the fro and the one where the hair forms the letters best.

And then one for myself…
